Dr. Navarro was born and raised in the fun loving and foodie state of Louisiana. Her parents supported her love for animals, and she grew up with dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, goats, cows, pigs, ducks, geese, rabbits, a horse and even a brother. She started college in the fall of 2009 at Louisiana State University from which she graduated with honors. After three years at LSU, she entered Louisiana State University: School of Veterinary Medicine, from which she graduated in 2013. She then moved to Las Vegas and practiced small animal general practice medicine and surgery at Valley Ranch Animal Hospital for four years where she worked for Dr. James Nave and was mentored by Dr. Reese and Dr. Massey-Walters.
In 2017, Dr. Navarro moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida, and began working in Emergency Medicine at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center with Dr. Lymen. This is where Dr. Navarro found her love for emergency medicine.
Dr. Navarro moved to the beautiful Pensacola area to work with Dr. Bordelon and the VERC team to follow her passion for emergency medicine in 2019.
Dr. Navarro has a three-pound Yorkie named Octavia. Octavia (Tavi) fostered and convinced Dr. Navarro to adopt a cat they named Olivia, who is Tavi’s best friend. When Dr. Navarro is not working, she enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her family back home in Louisiana.
See All Our Specialists"I am a registered nurse who has worked in healthcare over 30 years. Over half of my career i worked in critical care. The staff from front desk to veterinarians delivered compassionate, professional, expert care to my Golden Retriever Dani. I was fortunate to be able to access care credit to meet the immediate financial committment for her treatment. Diagnostic tests including labs and CT scan, chest tubes, major thoracic surgery, a week of critical care. The fact that these critical care services were available saved her life. The surgeons demonstrated exceptional skill and knowledge. I do not feel any of the cost was excessive. I do realize that many are not able or willing to pay for the needed emergency healthcare. I have been in that position myself. VERC is a business and has to run as one to stay open. Understand that does not mean that it is not difficult for staff members who work within these limitations. VERC supported the level of follow up care that was needed for my companion from August until December. This included consulting with outside veterinarians with specific specialties (infectious disease, pathology) and working with our primary care veterinarian. I would not hesitate to take any one of my canine or feline companions to VERC. Thank you to each and every one of you that assisted in Dani's care. The quality time i had with her means more than words can say."
