Happy Retirement Dr. Bordelon!         

We want to Congratulate Dr. David Bordelon as he is retiring after serving our community and providing excellent emergency and critical care for his patients for over 21 years. Dr. Bordelon founded the Veterinary Emergency Referral Center and fulfilled his dream of running a 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, and Neurology Specialty Hospital! The Doctors and staff at VERC will miss him dearly but wish him all the best in his new endeavors!

Unfortunately, we will no longer be taking referral ultrasound and echocardiogram appointments. However, we will continue to offer ultrasound and emergency services 24/7. Dr. Nanai and Dr. Lemarie will continue to offer their services in Neurology, Surgery, 1.5 Tesla MRI, and CT imaging. Upon his departure, the hospital will continue to operate normally and support the community.

We thank Dr. Bordelon for his vision, hard work, and perseverance to make VERC what it is today!

Emergency Care

Emergency situations affecting our animals often arise without warning. Surgery and Neurology

The Veterinary Emergency Referral Center is the most advanced surgery center in Northwest Florida, staffed by a caring support team trained to use our state-of-the-art technology. From our clean and comfortable waiting room to the paw-friendly heated floors in our recovery ward, our entire facility is designed to keep you and your pet as stress-free as possible.

Advanced Imaging and Diagnostics

Unlike human patients, animals cannot answer questions about how they’re feeling or what is causing their distress. In fact, most dogs and cats instinctively hide outward signs of injury or disease! That’s why it is so important to have thorough diagnostic tests and accurate images of your pet’s internal organs and structures to identify injuries or signs of disease. At the Veterinary Emergency Referral Center, we have the equipment to perform a wide range of medical imaging services for pets. From digital X-Rays, endoscopy, and fluoroscopy imaging modalities to ultrasounds and echocardiograms, we have the technology and know-how to see the details of trauma and internal injuries. We also perform services not found at most veterinarian offices such as CT scans, MRI scans, and myelograms.
