Dr. Soreng grew up riding horses, fly-fishing, and skiing in Oregon. She then moved to North Carolina to attend Davidson College to obtain her Bachelor of Science. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Colorado State University where she met her husband. A military spouse, she and her husband moved to Florida after spending three years in Texas. Dr. Soreng has always had a love for emergency medicine and worked at an emergency veterinary hospital outside of Austin, Texas prior to working at VERC.
In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy the challenge of salt-water fly-fishing, and she loves spending time with their two dogs Aspen and Ally, and cat Zero.
See All Our Specialists"We had an after-hours issue with our 14-year-old dog. They were able to see her quickly and put our minds at ease. They were great at explaining the diagnosis and providing an article describing the issue, which was reassuring to read after we got home and could take our time processing the information. They provided meds for our girl and gave clear discharge instructions, plus emailed both us and our regular vet the discharge instructions. Everyone was kind and calm, which helped put us at ease. They respected our wishes to have our dog recover at home, but we knew we could have let her there under their care if we chose. They assured us we could call or return if we had questions or our girl took a turn for the worse. While I adore our regular vet, I was so thankful to have a 24-hour emergency option available!"
